Pet Friendly Airlines Is Your Answer

Time sure flies when you are having fun, but before long, the days will begin to shorten, Labor Day will be getting close, and school will start again for another year.  Therefore, what does that tell you, vacations will soon end and every pet parent will have considered included their dog in activities away from home?  Whether it be vacations, or visiting friends or relatives in other states other than your own, takes some serious planning, and taking your dog in the family vehicle for several days, especially if they are large dogs is not the best choice, or favorable to the pet family and their pet. Fly them in the sky on the pet friendly airlines that are committed to pets only, flying in the main cabin with no humans aboard except the pilot and pet attendant.

Pet friendly airlines continues to add additional cities on their flight plans delivering pets to places where their pet parents can pick them up and enjoy being all together as a family.  They are flying into cities such as Phoenix, Denver, Los Angles, New York, Ft Launderdale, Altanta, Baltimore/Washington DC, Chicago, and Omaha.  As time goes on pet friendly airlines will most probably add more destinations to and from the pet parent’s home state.  A pet friendly airline takes care of your pets as if they were their own, and has a lighted cabin with controlled temperatures for a safe and happy flight.  JUST A WORD OF CAUTION!  In my  local paper today, there was an article cautioning pet parents who have short-snouted dogs such as pugs and bulldogs have had a  higher death rate in the last 5 years due to being shipped as cargo, again this is why it is so important to fly your pets in a pet only airline, in the main cabin where there are no humans except the pilot and pet attendant.   Be Happy!

Vacation Time is Just Around the Corner

The time is near for planning vacations with family, children, and pets.  Driving to your chosen vacation spot may take several days. Therefore, having to cross several states before you get to your destination can be tiring, not only for the pet parents, but to the dog as well.  Depending on the size of the family and how far they will be driving, will determine how crowded the family vehicle will be with children and their dog.  Most pet families love to have everyone together for fun and relaxation, but will your vehicle be over crowded limiting legroom for comfort.

The easiest solution would be to fly your pet to where you will be vacationing because the drive would be longer than the airline flight.  The pet airline that flies your pet, will have room for them, and will take care of your dog until you arrive.  Flying your pet is not unheard of these days because of the convenience to the family and to their pet.  It is less wear and tear on all and knowing your dog is safe and well taken care of by the pet attendant is important.  The pet airline flies only pets, not human passengers in the main cabin.  How great is that?  Be Happy!

Plan to Fly Your Pet This Summer for a Vacation

Summer vacations are just around the corner, so make your plans ahead of time to schedule the itinerary for you and your pet.  Book their flight before the summer rolls around, everyone, and their dog will be traveling for summer vacations.  It is important not to travel in the heat of the summer.  Your pet will not have a pleasant flight.  However, again you must consider the choices offered in flying your pets to various places.  Try to book a flight in the early morning hours or in the evenings when the temperature cools down.  There are various rules and regulations on flying your pets, and the pet parent must adhere to these rules. Choices that are available to fly your pet may be on a commercial airline or a pet only airline that flies only pets.  Which one to choose should not be difficult because safety is a priority in transporting your pet on either one.  The problem with the commercial airlines is where the pet is stored during the flight, has little climate control.  If your pet is small and their pet carrier can be placed under the seat in front of you, that may work.  But if they are larger, they will be placed in the cargo area.  Something else to remember is that not all commercial airlines will accept any kind of pet.  Problems are beginning to become an issue with pets flying in the cabin, because some passengers are allergic to animals.

In any case, always contact the airlines before making plans to take your pet on a vacation with the family.  Inform the airlines that you will be accompanying your pet in the cabin if acceptable, or transporting them along with your baggage.  You need to confirm your flight plans 24-48 hours prior to departure.  Some airlines will allow only a certain amount of pets on each of their flights. Placing your pet carrier under the seat during the flight and deciding you want to love and cuddle your pet, do not.  This will not be tolerated.  Your pet must stay in their pet carrier for the entire flight. This is a no-no.  Commercial airlines will not allow this to happen, nor disturbing other passengers.  The pet parent is responsible for all required health documentation before boarding. To avoid all of this unnecessary worry, fly your dog on the pet only airlines.  Your dog will fly in the main cabin that is climate controlled and lighted for your pet’s safety and protection.  The pilot and pet attendant will be the only humans aboard and they take special interest and pride in transporting your pet to their designation.  Be Happy!

Happy Easter to Pet Parents and Their Pets

Petguardianangel and Petsafetyblog wish all a Happy Easter

I was just thinking the fun we had as children growing up and having Easter egg hunts on Easter Sunday.  All the preparations ahead of time dying eggs, coloring them and creating delightful Easter baskets with goodies galore.  Please keep in mind that dogs love chocolate, but do not give them any because it can be fatal.  You do not want to experience a tragedy that could have been avoided.  Give them one of their treats they love instead.

Just because we are not children anymore does not mean that this tradition should stop, and I am quite positive that it is still a celebration that will go on … Happy Easter , and Be Happy!

A Pet Airline Dedicated to Pet Safety

Talk about dedication to pets, what about the airline that flies only pets with only two humans aboard, the pilot and the pet attendant.  What a great way for large and small pets to travel if their pet parents’ vehicle is over packed. Maybe the trip is much too long to expect our pets to be patient while riding in a small space, and is not comfortable in stretching their legs as the ones up front can do during riding in comfort.  If they have to go, they need to hold it until the driver decides it is time to stop for roadside facilities.  Normally pets will accompany the pet parents on a short road trip or a vacation that is a few hours from home.  However, if the trip is a long one and takes several days, most likely you would board your pet in a kennel.  This is expensive considering the kennel cough inoculation that is required several days before kennel boarding, and all other vaccinations must be up to date.  Flying your pet commercially, their medical records must be brought up to date as well before boarding a plane.  If your pet is small enough to go under the seat in front of you, that probably would work, but if not then what happens.  Your pet will fly in the cargo of the plane.

A pet friendly airlines that has truly gone to the dog and cats for comfort and safety is a pet airline that transports your pets in the main cabin and not in cargo, where temperatures can reach up to 120 degrees.  The pet airways fly out of several major cities and plans to expand nationwide.  Pet Airways’ pet attendant ensures an animal-friendly travel experience from drop-off at the Pet Lounge through the fully lit and climate-controlled flight in which there is a proper level of fresh air circulation. All animals are boarded and de-boarded from planes as quickly as possible, and are not exposed to the cold or heat.  Depending on transit time, toilet facilities, food, and water are available during stops. Owners will be able to book and track their pet’s travel progress online by going to the pet airline website.  According to studies made, thousands of pets travel with their owners each year.  Most commercial airlines will only accept one or two pets per flight.  A study by the San Francisco SPCA found that out of the 2 million animals transported in the cargo holds of commercial airliners per year, approximately 5,000 were injured in transit.  Be Happy!

Time is sneaking up and counting down (just three weeks) to the Easter holidays and all of the fun activities. If you absolutely have to fly your pet, you know they will have to travel in the cargo unaccompanied.  So choose a direct flight, which may decrease the time spent on the tarmac during extreme weather conditions.  Please give it a second thought before you commit to purchasing an airline ticket for your furry pet.  You have other choices and making the correct one may save your dog or cats life.  Flying is an enjoyable experience for pet parents, but not for their pets.  Exposing them to temperatures that are not controlled for comfort, horrible smells that they are not accustomed to, and ventilation that is not consistent to what their pet parents enjoy flying in the main cabin of the airplane.  A noise that the engines make is scary to your pet and they can be stressed to the limit.  If you must fly your pet in cargo, do not administer any medication or any kind of tranquilizers what so ever.  They will not have the ability to brace themselves during weather conditions that are rough causing flights to be very uncomfortable, and dangerous. The increase of heart or respiratory problems can become serious according to the American Veterinary Medical Association.  Let the flight attendant know that you have a pet flying in cargo and reassure them of your concern that your pet is in fact on board.

Do yourself a favor and relieve all of this pressure. Book a flight for your pet on a pet only airline before time runs out, if it has not already. Pet parents want to take their pets with them, but time riding in a vehicle can be frustrating and boring for you and your pet.  Let them enjoy a happy and satisfying flight flying on a pet only airline where there is only the pilot and pet attendant.  Pet Airways is operating a 19-passenger Beech 1900 aircraft in partnership with Suburban Air Freight with the seats removed to carry up to 50 pets in animal crates per flight. They will be cared for with the utmost care,  love, and attention that their pet parent would give.  The pet attendant monitors their safe and clean environment with climate control and lighting that makes for a happy flight experience for both the attendant and your pet.  Beside the tender loving care that your pet will receive, a potty break is available.  Just think your pet will be able to join everyone in his or her pet family for a happy Easter celebration.  Be Happy!

Stop Pet Allergy in Flight

Allergies toward pets are common among individuals whether they have pets or not.  Pet parents that do have allergies, control this problem through medications, and with their continuous love, will care for their pets.  To travel in a vehicle within close proximity of one another is accepted by the pet parent, because they know what to do to control their health problems.  However, traveling in an airplane among passengers who may be allergic to pets is another problem.  Most commercial airlines avoid serving peanuts as a precaution to people who suffer from reactions that can become severe by inhaling peanut dust in re-circulated air in the airline cabin.  Some airlines approve a carry on pet carrier that will slide under the pet parents’ passenger seat if the pet is small, but what if the pet is larger.  The answer to that is the cargo and baggage department, which could be detrimental to their health.  Climate control is not that important in those areas, therefore the temperature can fluctuate, but will still remain pressurized.  Stress can overcome a pet during their flight and can become scared and cause sickness.  It is estimated that one in ten people are allergic to animals and will cause complications during their flight.

Avoiding all of these problems and concerns, fly your pet on a pet only airline in the main cabin, not in cargo.  To insure a safe and comfortable flight a trained pet attendant is constantly monitoring your pet in a well lighted and climate control atmosphere.  There will be no need to purchase a pet carrier because the pet airlines will provide a carrier free of charge.  At last pets will fly safe and comfortably on their way to join their pet parents, and the pet only airline promises to transport your pet with lots of love, care, safety, and comfort in the main cabin. Pet Airways is the first airline exclusively dedicated to pets and takes the job of providing a comfortable experience for pets very seriously.  They will do everything in their power to make sure your pets get the best care during their journey because they are committed to taking care of their pet “pawsengers” as if they were their own.  Be Happy!

Make Pet Reservations Early For Easter Flights

Monday, February 15, 2010

Doggies pet family is planning a trip to visit relatives for the Easter weekend and mapping out the route which will be approximately 800 miles.  The Easter Holiday is 4 days of spending time together and sharing the traditional Easter dinner.  Preparations start ahead of time for choosing yellowlab11-300x300what clothes, etc. to bring along, and just how much baggage will the family car/SUV accommodate.  Motel reservations will be required in advance for possibly two nights, depending on road and weather conditions.  However, the big question is what to do with your family dog?  They love to ride and be with their pet parents, but there is just not enough room to take your pet with you.  So that means making reservations early enough to board your dog in the kennel, because Holidays are usually busy and if you wait until the last minute, you will not be able to reserve a place for them.  Their vaccinations should be updated and if there are medications taken by your dog, make sure there is enough to last until returning back home.  Then there is the cost of boarding.  Depending on the length of time they will be in the kennel, will determine the cost.  So, what other alternative is there to consider?

There is a pet airline that will fly your dog to your destination, and you would not have to worry how well your pet is being taken care of in the kennel.  Most dog kennels are very dependable, but flying your dog would be having all the family together for Easter.  The pet only airline is a safe and comfortable way to fly your dog and know that there are only two humans aboard, the pilot and the pet attendant.  Ask your veterinarian for your paplanes1dog’s records to assure the airline company that they are healthy and do not have any immediate medical problems.  Pet airways have a Pet Lounge at the airport for check-in no later than 2 hours before the flight.  They monitor the last time your pet had a potty break, and will get regular potty breaks along the way.  Your pet is also monitored every 15 minutes during the flight.  Think about it, this could not get any better than flying your pet to be together.  Be Happy!
