Your Tiny Pet Will Love a Pet Sling

I know all of you have at some time or another seen mothers carrying their small babies in something that looks like a pouch hanging around their neck.   Well there is a product for small pets called a pet sling, sometimes referred to as a pet carrier.  Taking our precious ones wherever we go is natural in bonding and feels good to have them close.  Pet slings come in a variety of colors and are for doggies that weigh 25 pounds or less.  Pet slings are easy to use and allows the pet parent to have their hands free to take care of other tasks.  Some slings allow you to carry your pet in several different positions for additional comfort.  There are also different ways to use the sling, sometime on your shoulders as if you would carry a shoulder bag, or around your neck.  This type of sling may not be appropriate for anyone that may have back problems, but there is a pet carrier that distributes your pet’s weight across both of your shoulders and back, providing back support.  Traveling with your pet and carrying them in a sling is stylish and pleasing to the eye.  Some airports allow the use of frontal pet carriers walking through terminals, but only until you are ready to board the plane.  Your hands would be free to carry your luggage along with the pet carrier, but before you do this, check with the airport.  It will still be a requirement to put them back into their pet carrier so you can slip your pet under your seat.  This type of travel is causing many conversational concerns with other passengers having allergies to pets.

Pet slings work well with pets that are disabled and have arthritis problems, missing a limb, heart disease, or diabetes.  This situation requires special needs and the pet sling will offer the loving and caring that a pet parent can give to their disabled pet. They will be able to accompany their pet parents in going for walks, shop with them, or just doing daily activities, and still be able to enjoy the nourishment and stimulation outdoors and indoors snuggled close to their parent.  Never use the pet sling as a car seat, or a bicycle seat, and do not wear the sling if traveling in a motorized vehicle, bicycle, scooter, skateboard or any similar activity.  Accidents do happen and you and your pet could be seriously injured or killed.  Make this an enjoyable pleasure.  Be Happy!

A Little Something Extra to Care For Your Senior Pets

Many products are now available to assist in caring for your senior dog, and even your pet bunny.  As they grow older, problems start to appear and senior-pic-21their dependency is upon their pet parents to make life easier and bearable.  The different breeds of dogs have a different life span and as pet parents, the need to provide solutions in making their lives more adaptable, is well worth the effort.  If you allow your dog to hang their head out of the vehicle window (which is not recommended), there are window bumpers that have a cushion for your dog to rest their head on for safety and slides on the top of the window.  During travel or taking your dog walking, a portable spill proof water bottle container is handy keeping your dog hydrated.  You carry a water bottle I bet, just for this same purpose.  Have you seen the handy dispenser that holds biodegradable poop bags that attach to your dogs leash?  What a neat idea.

Additional products offered in caring for our senior dogs are becoming more in demand in care giving.  A sturdy mobility harness and a support harness working together for dogs that have arthritis, or severe hip problems, will be of upmost help to care for senior pets that have difficulty getting up and down.  Mobility problems are the biggest challenge for your senior dog and understanding what all of these products have to offer including dog wheelchairs and used dog wheelchairs are affordable for them to live a long and happier life.  Summer is just around the corner and the excitement of taking your dog along for a ride has always pro-pg002-25been fun for pet parents.  Short rides are fun with so many different products available keeping your pet safe, but long rides or even vacations can be somewhat stressful in containing your active doggy, kitty or bunny.  Controlling the activity of your dog  riding in your vehicle includes many ideas.  A pet carrier that can snap in and out of your vehicle similar to a carrier for a baby, is handy.  It can be secured with a lap seat belt that will snap in or out in seconds with a quick release.  This particular pet carrier will accommodate your pet up to 15 pounds, and can be used as a kennel, if needed. Please consider all of these wonderful products for your senior pet care.   Be Happy!

Small Doggies Love To Go Shopping

It is a nice sunny day outside and you decide you want to go to your local mall, walk around shopping and enjoy your day, but you want to take your doggie along with you.  Taking a large dog shopping is beginning to take hold in various stores, which I think is awesome, but your large dog will need extra care holding on to their leash and trying to pick up supplies, goodies, or whatever with only one hand.  Your hands are not entirely free in controlling your dog.  I know, I have one.  However, if you have a small dog, purchasing a pet sling to carry on dsc_9259your shoulders would be ideal.  You have your pet snuggling close to your heart while you still have the use of both hands.  Let’s face it, they are adorable, and keeping them safe and close will avoid any unnecessary chances of other dog’s bothering them, and children wanting to pet them and give them a hug.  Some dogs do not particularly care for that gesture and could decide to bite them out of fear and uncertainty.

There are many varieties of pet carriers and slings to choose from that will be just perfect for you and your dog to enjoy the closeness of cuddling, and at the same time bonding.  This is wonderful for complete companionship.  It is true that some pet parents prefer larger dogs rather than small dogs, pjo6and that is okay, but look at it this way, someone has to love and take care of them little ones.  Large dogs have that excitement with their pet parents, just in a different way.  The most important thing for you to consider is that you will have the support needed in carrying your dog with you, and that you and your dog are comfortable together in doing so.  Be Happy!

Pet Carriers Are Awesome

In using a pet carrier for traveling by car, by air, training a puppy, moving to a new home or other purposes, is a safe way in protecting your pet.  Pet large_12920carriers come in different sizes, shapes, and colors, and provide a way of moving your pet from one place to another with ease.  Some pet parents use them to take their pet to the veterinarian clinic for a check-up, or for what every reason that requires you to transport your pet.  Dogs and cats alike can be comfortable in a pet carrier, and are always under your control.  There are pet parents who will allow their pets freedom to move around in their vehicle.  This is dangerous to the pet if an accident should occur.  Some seat belts may be adjusted around the pet carrier for additional safety.  In case of an accident, they would be safer in their pet carrier, rather than be thrown out of the vehicle.  There will be training involved with the idea that this could be a comfort zone for you and your pet.  Be sure and cover the bottom of the carrier with their favorite blanket and a few toys.

Train your pet inside of your home before trying to put the carrier in your sherpa_delta_airlines_deluxe_dog_carrier1vehicle.  Once they are familiar and comfortable in being inside, place the carrier in your vehicle, and drive around the neighborhood with them in their carrier.  This will become fun riding with their pet parent and will soon look forward to this new adventure. This should be done way before you are planning a vacation so they will not be scared in the movement of the vehicle, and will adjust being inside.  Be sure and purchase the correct size for your pet that will allow them to move around comfortably.  Don’t forget to praise them for being such a good boy or girl.  Be Happy!

Treats Are Your Puppies Paycheck

Tuesday, January 12, 2010

Should you give your puppy treats for no reason at all?  Usually you don’t, because treats are special rewards for doing something good.   The initial guilty-puppytraining  of your puppy should be given only by their pet parent. Puppy will actually learn to understand, and will strive in doing a good job in pleasing their pet parent.  In obeying your commands, give them their ‘paycheck’ (treat). Think of it this way, we as individuals in doing our jobs the way we were trained, earn paychecks, don’t we?  The same goes for our pets.  Treats are not given all the time, only when a command has been met and you are pleased with their  obedience. Maybe a little treat sometime when they look at you like this.  How precious.

Training your soon to be a big doggie, can be a rewarding challenge, especially when the outcome is exceedingly pleasing.  In controlling your dog in completing commands given, body language is very important.  Your dog will become in tuned to your moments and training will be easier with each passing day.  Consistency is very important in training.  Use one word in your command instead of mixing words together. ‘Sit’, ‘down’, ’stay’, ‘come’ are important commands for your puppy to learn, and using a voice tone of  authority will work very well.  Level of voice tones are important for your dog in obeying your command.  Exciting phrases and praises for encouragement are important in showing your dog that you approve.   If you don’t approve,  just as a firm ‘NO’ is sufficient.  Believe me, the ‘NO’ dragged out sometime such as; ‘Nooooooooo’ will for sure catch their pjo6attention.  Never scold or punish your dog for not obeying, that will scare them and will be more difficult in training.  After all is done and your puppy is still rather small,  reward it with a neat pet sling  or pet carrier so they can accompany you on your shopping trips.  They  love that.  Be Happy!
