Stop Pet Allergy in Flight
Allergies toward pets are common among individuals whether they have pets or not. Pet parents that do have allergies, control this problem through medications, and with their continuous love, will care for their pets. To travel in a vehicle within close proximity of one another is accepted by the pet parent, because they know what to do to control their health problems. However, traveling in an airplane among passengers who may be allergic to pets is another problem. Most commercial airlines avoid serving peanuts as a precaution to people who suffer from reactions that can become severe by inhaling peanut dust in re-circulated air in the airline cabin. Some airlines
approve a carry on pet carrier that will slide under the pet parents’ passenger seat if the pet is small, but what if the pet is larger. The answer to that is the cargo and baggage department, which could be detrimental to their health. Climate control is not that important in those areas, therefore the temperature can fluctuate, but will still remain pressurized. Stress can overcome a pet during their flight and can become scared and cause sickness. It is estimated that one in ten people are allergic to animals and will cause complications during their flight.
Avoiding all of these problems and concerns, fly your pet on a pet only airline in the main cabin, not in cargo. To insure a safe and comfortable flight a trained pet attendant is constantly monitoring your pet in a well lighted and climate control atmosphere. There will be no need to purchase a pet carrier because the pet airlines will provide a carrier free of charge. At last pets will fly safe and comfortably on their way to join their pet parents, and the pet only airline promises to transport your pet with lots of love,
care, safety, and comfort in the main cabin. Pet Airways is the first airline exclusively dedicated to pets and takes the job of providing a comfortable experience for pets very seriously. They will do everything in their power to make sure your pets get the best care during their journey because they are committed to taking care of their pet “pawsengers” as if they were their own. Make Pet Reservations Early For Easter Flights
Doggies pet family is planning a trip to visit relatives for the Easter weekend and mapping out the route which will be approximately 800 miles. The Easter Holiday is 4 days of spending time together and sharing the traditional Easter dinner. Preparations start ahead of time for choosing
what clothes, etc. to bring along, and just how much baggage will the family car/SUV accommodate. Motel reservations will be required in advance for possibly two nights, depending on road and weather conditions. However, the big question is what to do with your family dog? They love to ride and be with their pet parents, but there is just not enough room to take your pet with you. So that means making reservations early enough to board your dog in the kennel, because Holidays are usually busy and if you wait until the last minute, you will not be able to reserve a place for them. Their vaccinations should be updated and if there are medications taken by your dog, make sure there is enough to last until returning back home. Then there is the cost of boarding. Depending on the length of time they will be in the kennel, will determine the cost. So, what other alternative is there to consider?
There is a pet airline that will fly your dog to your destination, and you would not have to worry how well your pet is being taken care of in the kennel. Most dog kennels are very dependable, but flying your dog would be having all the family together for Easter. The pet only airline is a safe and comfortable way to fly your dog and know that there are only two humans aboard, the pilot and the pet attendant. Ask your veterinarian for your
dog’s records to assure the airline company that they are healthy and do not have any immediate medical problems. Pet airways have a Pet Lounge at the airport for check-in no later than 2 hours before the flight. They monitor the last time your pet had a potty break, and will get regular potty breaks along the way. Your pet is also monitored every 15 minutes during the flight. Think about it, this could not get any better than flying your pet to be together. Be Happy!
Hilda the Iraqi Mutt
An Iraqi mutt given the name Hilda was cared for by a Colorado Army National Guard soldier, roaming through an American Camp 70 miles of
Baghdad. A dog don’t have to be a pure bred to charm an individual fighting for our country, just a mutt who took a liking to one soldier, who in turn loved her back and treated her with respect. The soldier is not due back in the US until sometime after the beginning of spring, and wanted to see if there was a way to send Hilda back to his Mother in the US. There is an organization called Operation Baghdad Pups, operated by SPCA International that helped to transport the dog to the soldier’s Mother who resides in Colorado. Transporting the dog was probably not a pet airline, but that is okay, I am sure she was still safe. Just image how scared this poor dog was, arriving in an area far from the conditions the dog had been accustomed to. Unfortunately after the dog arrived to her new home, she was able to get out of her collar and leash, and ran off. The poor Mother was heartbroken because of the severity of what could become of the runaway pet. The only peace offering if someone found Hilda was to perhaps entice her with cheese, mocha, Pop-Tarts or muffins.
After almost 5 days, searching for her son’s pet, the mother found Hilda safe and most probably ready to go back to her new home. She had wandered off several miles away, and a chance of being hit by an automobile was a
serious concern. Hilda had wandered off close to a four lane state highway that could have ended in tragedy. All of the Denver area population that heard about the runaway dog on the local TV and newspaper, was elated in hearing of her recovery. The picture of the dog in the paper today was adorable, but sad looking, maybe, just maybe, she will accept her new surrounding, and turn out to be a good dog to be proud of. Be Happy!
