Dog Ramps Help Mobility

Your dog may be aging and wants to go for a ride with you. If you are like me, I love to take my dog with me, but he has a hard time getting into the SUV.  Jumping up into a vehicle is very painful for a dog if there is a totenstorewith20dogproblem with their joints or hips.  Arthritis may have started to become a health problem and moving around will be difficult. Watching your dog trying to walk around is heartbreaking, and because your aging dog  is part of your family, you want to help them as much as possible to make life more comfortable and enjoyable.

There are many products designed to help your dogs mobility and will enable them to move around easily with less pain.  Dog ramps are great to help them get into your vehicle instead of jumping up to get inside. Jumping is painful so as your dog ages, you must always be aware of your dog’s discomfort. The dog ramps are usually about 6 feet long, but can be longer to accommodate the slope required for them 2000cfcba86f37f8d3bc7adb4e135743to walk up and down comfortably. There are telescopic dog ramps that slide inward for maneuvering easily, and are lightweight. There are ramps that fold, and are longer and wider, but this depends on where you need to use it. The slope is important in deciding the length, depending if your dog likes to ride in the back of a pickup truck, a boat, an automobile, or an SUV. Whichever you choose will be affordable and you and your dog will get many fun times together, going for a ride.  Be Happy!

Your Dog Has Taught You That Life Is Joyful, How Can That Be?

Pet parents have given their dogs a life to be shared and loved by others who understand what it is like having a dog as a pet.  They are part of your family and will remain so, until death.  A wonderful article several years ago about the death of a dog, included a statement from a very youny boy about how he felt in witnessing his old faithful dog pass away from a fatal illness.dogue-de-bordeaux-2-picture1It seems as though the family were discussing the dog’s demise, explaining why such things have to happen.  The boy’s parents were trying to console him with their thoughts when the young boy said he knew why.  When “humans are put on this earth they learn how to live good lives, be good to their friends, love everyone, and always be nice and polite to each other.   Well dogs don’t have to stay around for a very long time, because they petstep-ramp-graphite-khakialready know how to do that.”  Love one another, use kind words when speaking, live a simple life, and love with generosity.  Pet parents spend a lot of time taking care of their pets, and if they are old and somewhat crippled, provide a dog ramp for them to be able to get into their vehicle, making sure they are safe, and provide a good life for them.  Dogs return the favor back to their pet families, tenfold.

  • If there is something that lays buried, dig until you find it.

That shows the secret of being successful, being persistence.

  • Don’t shrug away when someone wants to touch you.

They just want to be close.

  • Always, run to the door when someone you love comes home for the day.

This displays love and caring.

  • Having a bad day, stay close, nuzzle against them and be silent.

Two things we should all remember – who struck them when they were down, and who helped them on their way back up.

  • Napping is good.

Stressful lives and understanding when to limit yourself getting up and down. If nothing else, take a break and usually your disposition will be lifted.

  • Go for a joy ride.

Have you ever laid down on your back, and felt the grass under your body?

  • Take long walks.

Besides getting your exercise, you are breathing fresh air for extra energy that perhaps you did not have before.

  • Loyal toward your fellow man.

Loyalty is one of the finest qualities that a human being can possess.

  • Play and run as much as you can.

These things offer a peaceful and calm attitude that everyone needs one time or another.

  • Growl, do not bite.

Always keep your temper under control if possible, but if you are not up to par, let people know.

A Pet Parent Caretaker

If your dog is suffering from arthritis, hip problems, moves around slowly,  old age, or other diseases that make it uncomfortable for them to get up and down, there are ways for pet parents to help in making their dog as boomer3comfortable as possible in living the remaining days of their life, then the pet parent becomes a caretaker.  Arthritis is an aggressive disease and when your dog is older, more attention needs to be given in finding ways to help relieve some of their pain.  Your veterinarian can prescribe medication to make your dog more comfortable. He may suggest purchasing glucosamine supplements which is helpful, or perhaps some other medication.  Increasing the height of their water and food bowls will help them from having to stoop down so far.

Taking care of your faithful friend whose love is absolutely unconditional, will always leave you with the feeling of  love and pride in knowing that you are taking care of your dog.  One of the greatest ways in helping them in being able to get in and out of your mh1622020smart20rampvehicle, is to provide a dog ramp to ease their pain in trying to jump up and down, and getting in and out.  Our pet friends love to go for rides, and just being with their pet parents makes them happy doggies.  If you allow your dog on your furniture and bed, then the ramp will provide easy access.  Jumping up is very difficult for your dog without not having any pain.  Dog ramps provide easy mobility and is light weight in handling for the pet parent.  There may even be other ways that the ramp could be used; perhaps going up a few steps in entering the home would certainly help.  Be Happy!

Christmas Dog

There was a program on TV not long ago about a dog that was borrowed from an animal shelter so the family could share their Christmas with a dog who had no family. It seemed that the father in the family had been in a war zone and had a dog as his companion. This soldier was severely injured which affected one of his legs and was returned home, having to leave the dog behind. The man’s son found out that a yellowlab11-300x300family could borrow a dog for Christmas. The father was not so keen on the idea, but the boy would have been so disappointed. So the father and son went to the animal shelter to find out what had to be done in order to bring one of their dogs home. Well, the answer was, “take good care of him, but bring him back the day after Christmas.”

This seemed to be acceptable to the man and his son, so they brought this wonderful dog back to their farm. The dog loved to ride in the bed of the pickup, but was having difficulty in jumping up into the back end. The man had 62320-deluxe-telescoping-rampmade a ramp for some of his sheep for loading them in the back of his truck, so why not use this as a dog ramp for the dog. It worked really great and made things so much easier. Christmas was just around the corner and the man kept thinking about having to return the dog to the shelter. Thinking about the dog that was left behind when his leg was injured, made up the man’s mind to adopt this dog and provide a very healthy life for him. Needless to say, all had a wonderful Christmas together, and finally gave the dog a name. Christmas! Be Happy!
