A Retractable Dog Leash Is A Fun Way To Walk Your Dog
How many times have you seen a pet parent out walking their pet child and the pet child is in control by pulling ahead at their own will, while the person on the other end is just about running full speed ahead. I have seen that more times that I would like to count on all fingers and toes. This is ridiculous, what kind of fun is that in walking your dog, the responsibility of owning a dog is training them for obedience in many different aspects of learning commands that will turn them into a great pet that any pet parent would be pleased to own. The use of different lengths with a short leash should be for training to “heel” and “down”, a longer leash in learning how to “come”, “sit”, and “stay”, “where the retractable dog leash is for walking your dog leisurely giving them some slack ahead of you, but still having control by pulling the locking mechanism leash back into place. Note: these different leash lengths are not set in concrete, everyone has their own thoughts.
Dogs love to sniff anything and everything so allowing some slack allows them to have their fun, but must understand they are not in control. It would not be a wise decision for children to use the retractable dog leash without supervision in learning how to use the lock by controlling the length of the cord; this will take practice for ultimate control to get the feel of just how the leash functions for control. Do not settle for an inexpensive leash just because it costs less, it is not worth it to take a chance on a poorly manufactured dog retractable leash. Less expensive leashes that do not stand up to a quality product, contains various flaws; therefore, you get what you pay for. Be Happy!
Using A Retractable Dog Leash Gives Your Dog More Space To Sniff
Retractable dog leashes are a good tool to have in having control over your dog, but still keeping them close so as not to tangle the cord around something that could be dangerous to your pet child, and to the pet parent as well is very important. A dog retractable leash should not be used for training but for walking, a different kind of leash is used for training the pet child from a puppy to a somewhat older dog that is still learning commands, and obeying them as given by their pet parent. Walking the pet child everyday is necessary for them to get their exercise and releasing the cord on the retractable leash gives them a little more freedom to sniff out whatever it is that they love to sniff, besides they are very stylish. In walking your dog in heavy traffic, out in the dog parks where some pet parents allow their pet child to run loose or even busy neighborhoods, just be cognizant of your responsibility to your pet child.
Practice with the retractable dog leash several times to get use to how it handles, how far the cord will extend, and how your dog reacts to something different. Always check the lock to make sure it functions properly and locks in place at different intervals of length chosen in walking your dog. This is probably way out, but if the pet parent has small hands, be aware of the opening where your hand is placed in the handle in controlling your dog. I cannot think of a reason that the entire length of the cord remain released when out walking with your dog, this is asking for trouble, just enjoy your walks together and know that you can allow a certain distance for your dog to keep safe. Be Happy!
Spoof Up Your Dog’s Appearance With A Retractable Dog Leash
Each pet child has a personality all of their own when attached to their retractable leash, some are good, and some are not so good, just depending on what mood they are in, if that is possible. Are dogs moody, I am not sure, but I know that my dog sometimes pouts when left alone longer than usual, but he does get over it? There are retractable dog leashes that go with most personalities and are such fun in showing off that treasured pet child, and should have two kinds of leashes that should be part of their accessories. One if they are still in the training mode particularly if the pet parent is training their dog to “come” or “heel”, this type of leash should be at least 25 feet or so, and a leash for walking.
A dog retractable leash has been high in popularity the last several
years and are easy to handle and will allow enough slack for the pet child to wander up ahead to sniff out strange scents, but will retract when needed. There are many choices to choose from, but be selective for you and your dogs needs on an everyday standard of when, where, and why a certain dog leash is required. Owning a retractable dog leash can become boring if there is no style involved such as the Rambo, Sherlock, Fifth Ave, Floral Fling, even the Death Star for the doggie that thinks they are a watch out, look out, big bad boy pet child. Now what fun is that, not only will the pet parent be amused, but also the passerby is staring at that thing called a retractable dog leash. Be Happy!
A Clicker Leash Makes It Easier To Control Your Dog
Did you know that dog’s love to be trained to be obedient to their pet parents’ commands, but why, they want to please and obey and of course getting a treat for
doing so. Pleasing a dog’s pet parent commands is a happy beginning of a close relationship, and there are numerous commands in training your dog that is fun for both. Perhaps the pet parent does not have the time for obedience training and prefers to send their dog to school, but personally, I feel that if the pet parent can train their own pet, there is more to the training than just obedience. There is the togetherness of love and confidence between the two and besides, it is very rewarding in knowing you did a good job and end up with a wonderful pet that you will be proud of.
Depending on what training you want your dog to learn, there are simple procedures for your dog to understand what it is that you want them to do, and they will learn to
understand to be a well-trained dog. Most pet parents have more than one leash for their dog, and many of the different lengths have different reasons in using the leash for training, such as longer leashes are used in training to ‘come’, and generally used for training your dog to ‘heel’. The retractable leash is a good tool because you have more control over your dog and is a popular and successful training tool that is reasonable in price. The clicker leash is retractable and contains a clicker within the handle when used with each command, the dog will learn to respect the clicker and of course, receive a treat each time they follow through. Retractable Dog Leashes Are Best After Training
Exercising your dog regularly is a happy and healthy way of maintaining the lubrication of your dog’s joints, and strengthens their legs and hips avoiding possible
health problems later in their lives. This is particularly important for dogs that live with their pet parents in apartments and are not able to run and play. The lucky dog’s that live with their pet parents in a home with a back yard have this pleasure, but at the same time should be taken out for walks socializing them to what is outside the fence. Along with walking the dog, the pet parent is exercising as well walking around in their community and through the park, so a retractable leash is handy because the length of the leash is usually between 9 feet for smaller pets up to 14 pounds, and 15 feet for larger pets up to 28 pounds.
There are different lengths as well for much larger dog’s, but with any length of the
leash, the dog must not run far ahead of their pet parent. The retractable leash is meant for dog’s having some freedom to do a little sniffing and investigating while walking, but still be under control with good judgment by the pet parent. Retractable leashes are not a wise choice for leash training your dog, there are special leashes for this with short and long leashes depending on what type of training. After your dog has learned to obey your commands, the retractable leash with many designs to show off your furry friend’s personality is one that is fun to use, but still serviceable. Be Happy!
Retractable Dog Leash is Two Fold
The way I look at dog leashes is the significant training on “walking”, “stay” position, “sit”, and “come”. A regular leash and collar is used in this training . Leashes are available in different fabrics, and leather, and come in different sizes, lengths, and colors. What I call a regular leash is usually short enough for maximum training and
the pet parent has better control. Learning to heel, is usually short leads with enough lead way in regular training, teaching your dog to walk beside you when walking and not ahead or behind. This is a great accomplishment in your training, and having your dog obey. This particular command is rewarding not only to the pet parent, but to their dog as well. There is a certain satisfaction in walking side by side. There can be distractions though and must be corrected immediately to avoid disagreement as to who is in charge. Persistence in training is the key to any command that you want your dog to obey.
After completion of training in the heeling position and your dog is very obedient in walking by your side, the other commands should still continue, but you could change to a different lease that would give them more headway to explore. Dogs love to go walking, especially if they have a certain rein that has been relieved of tension as to how far they can go where they can smell anything and everything. This is a fun and enjoyable experience to the dog and their pet
parent. They feel they are free to roam, but guess what, your dog is still not in control and will not take long for them to understand exactly who is in control. When the pet parent feels that they have roamed far enough a head, just push the retractable button. Using a retractable leash is not only just for fun and style, but also still has the obedience control just by controlling the give and take of the leash line. This is also a method that can be used in the “come” command, by commanding your dog to “stop”, and then use the command “come”. You may leave the leash open as your dog comes back to you. Just release the button to retract back into position. Be Happy!
