Doggies Private Get-a-Way
Dog kennels and crates are a great way in training your new pet and is a safe haven for them when they feel household noises are too confusing, such as loud music, TV, or just loud voices in conversation. First of all, there is really no difference from dog kennels and crates, they are just different shapes, sizes, and colors, and are
constructed as a wire kennel, a plastic one, or a wooden dog kennel and crate. The plastic kennel or crate usually always has a handle and is also considered as a pet carrier for moving from place to place and is convenient when traveling with a small pet, keeping them in one place for their safety, where the wire kennels have more visual opportunity for the dog to see better of the surroundings around them. Wire kennels are especially handy for larger dogs for going in and out of their kennel at their will in their home, and are available for traveling in SUV’s according to the dog’s size.
Do not confuse the wire indoor dog kennel and crate to the ones that are available for outdoors that are much larger in size and one where the dogs food and water can be
kept inside the kennel, especially if the pet parent is gone for any considerable amount of time. Place a cover of some sort on the top of the kennel for shade or any unexpected weather changes. I have seen large wire kennels in back yards that even added a doghouse of some sort for the dog to snuggle when they want to rest. Just a word of caution, make sure the dog’s collar is one that will slip off, just in case…. Be Happy!
Going Camping, Take Your Dog Along
Dogs love to be outdoors sniffing around for different scents involving other dogs, cats, and squirrels mostly because it is of excitement to them realizing that they are
not the only ones that love the outdoors. This is the time for camping out in rural areas for fun and relaxation and walking along paths through the woods seeing wild flowers, birds and different species of insects. I must admit that I have never been camping because I always lived out in the country, and experiencing that type of living, you did not need to camp. You pretty much are camping, but of course depending what the definition of camping is to some individuals, this is the way of life for rural living, for some.
Setting up a camp on your own property, cooking out and watching the stars at night is equal to
going somewhere out of town and looking for places to camp, I would just guess from hearing other people talk, getting all the family involved is such a
wonderful accomplishment being outdoors together, including their dog. The pet family has camping equipment and a place to sleep, but what about their dog. This is where the soft-sided dog crate is handy and breaks down to carry in a dog crate carry bag, and when not in use can be stored or even used in the pet family’s home. This crate if affordable, lightweight and provides the dog to observe the family activities and has appropriate ventilation for the dog. Be Happy!
Out of the Ordinary Dog Crate
Most dog crates (kennels) advertised are the traditional wire crates that break down usually into four sections, front, back and two sides, and are very adaptable to house
our pets when times are required. Now what does “required” mean? Training our dogs to have their own place of comfort and a place of confinement when it is necessary to keep them out of mischief and when there are crowds within the pet parents’ home for dinner or just partying. Pet parents love to have their pet around full time, but sometime not all individuals take to dogs like some people do, so controlling their whereabouts is important to keep stress under controlled if some of your guests are not animal lovers.
As stated above the traditional dog crate is usually a wire crate, but can also be a
plastic crate, or perhaps as soft-sided crate, but have you seen the wooden dog crates that are end tables as well that will blend into the pet parents living room, or even their bedroom? They are a beautiful piece of furniture and designed to complement the pet parent’s interior decorating. They are handcrafted of solid oak, and also available in mahogany or cherry and are more of a piece of furniture than what you would think as being a dog crate. Our pets deserve the very best, and having a special place for your furry friend, is high society. Be Happy!
Dog Crates and Kennels
There is a difference of opinion between dog kennels and a dog crate. Dog kennels
are wire and are in sections where they can break down flat for moving or storage, and some may be plastic. Plastic crates are useful for smaller dogs placed in selected areas without any trouble. Depending on the size of the dog, some dog crates or dog kennels will allow the pet to see what is going on around them and they will feel comfortable without whining because they feel alone.
Dog crates or dog kennels (which are actually the same) can differ, but over all, the dog will learn that this is where they should go for peace away from turmoil within the home. Sometime they tend to get under the pet parents’ feet, and if there are visitors, they
can be a nuisance. My dog had his own dog kennel that was placed in a large closet with the door open and he could come and go as he pleased, but still confined when the appropriate situation required him to stay put. That was not a problem, because that was his domain and a place to call his own, but to some people that do not have pets will not understand, but the pet parent will. Be Happy!
Every Dog Needs Their Own Bed
Every dog should have his or her own bed whether it is some luxurious bedding or a homemade one. A few old blankets make good dog beds as well, but whatever is best
for you and your dog is what you should have. A good dog bed is important for large breed dogs and if by chance, they are suffering from arthritis or hip dysplasia it is even more important for them to have a soft bed to lie in. There are orthopedic dog beds that are heated and dog beds that are for their crates for a restful night’s sleep.
Do not forget the small breed dogs, they need comfort too even though they may not have medical problems that require a soft bed, but why not provide them one
anyway. We all love comfort, especially when we go to bed at night. If you have a crate or kennel for your dog, then cover the bottom with a dog bed that is quite affordable. The pet parent will be at ease knowing they have helped to comfort them in a cozy atmosphere that belongs only to their dog. Be Happy!
Update on the Reconstruction of My Website
The reconstruction of my website has taken longer to complete than I previously thought. Again, I hope to have everything available before the end of the month. Every time one portion of the reconstruction is completed, another problem arises, that is how we learn and understand that there are faster and better ways in finalizing completion, to include additional products as they become available. Lots of detail involved like anything else when adding products to the Internet. KEEP A LOOK OUT of what’s coming! It shouldn’t be too much longer before you will be able to purchase directly from my website. There will continue to be available products that will refer you to your specific interest.
One of the new items is a shedding tool to remove your dog’s old hair so the new hair will look shiny and healthy. This awesome tool pulls the old hair from underneath which is hard to get with the regular combs used in brushing. Several styles of pet booster seats will be available, with one that folds and slides into the dog’s suitcase along with a bed. Really is a neat and convenient item. Tick collars will be available in keeping those nasty things from biting your dog and embedding themselves into their skin. Styles that are different from the ordinary dog crate, is a wicker dog crate that will conform to any home décor. A spray and gel product that will remove plaque and tarter on your dog’s teeth is effective for their dental care. One of the new dog ramps also offers a carrying bag to transport the dog’s car ramp. If not in use, it may be stored under your bed, or closet. Last, but not least is a ‘handi’ portable dog water dish that can be used to keep your dog hydrated on their long walks or rides in the car. Be Happy!
Dog Kennels are Good Training Tools
You hear the term “dog kennel” or “dog crate,” is there really a difference? No, not really, but if you have just purchased a puppy, they should have a dog kennel all of their own and it won’t be long before you realize how effective the kennel is to potty train your new friend. A dog kennel will help in training and will become very
effective once your puppy has learned to adjust to their new environment. As for the size, make sure to get one that is just big enough for your dog to stand up, turn around, and lie down in. When a kennel is used for this purpose, the puppy will not “soil” their area where they lay because the area available, will not allow space to do both. Keep in mind that once your puppy has been potty trained, hang on to the small kennel. Later on, you may want to adopt a puppy for companionship for your older dog. Pet parents sometime are too busy to play, so a buddy will help to comfort your dog when they feel lonely.
After potty training has been completed, your dog will need a larger dog kennel. By this time, they will have adjusted, so in considering the size your dog will be when full grown, will help you decide on the size required. By this time, your dog will love their kennel and this will be their comfort zone for lounging, or just sitting down watching the pet family’s activities. If you have guests over for dinner, or during holidays, your dog’s kennel will be most appropriate during gatherings. This will be an ideal time for your dog to be confined and away from the turmoil. Most inside dog kennels
have a metal tray of some sort that makes it easier to maintain cleanliness, and a floor grate is sometime purchased to keep the kennel from resting on the floor or carpet. Before you know it, your dog will come and go at their own will and find it a cozy and restful place they can call their own. There are very large dog kennels that can be used outdoors permanently for your dog to get fresh air, but cover the top of the kennel with a blanket or something to keep the sun at a minimum, and do not forget to keep fresh water for them. Be Happy!
Is There a Difference Between a Dog Kennel and a Dog Crate?
Not really, but to begin with, on this subject, never, never use a dog kennel or crate for
punishment. There have been many questions about the difference between a dog kennel and a dog crate. There is no difference between dog kennels or dog crates, except that dog kennels are usually constructed with wire that can be disassembled on all sides, and will lay flat for storage. Because of this type of construction, they are well ventilated, and your dog can enjoy the sights around them to keep in touch. A cover of some kind could be placed over the top to hang down a bit for privacy, but don’t cover the entire kennel. There are steel framed crates with fabric covers that can be included as additional décor in your home. What fun it would be to cover the kennel with some wild colored material, or pictures of doggies playing. Kennels can also be plastic and attractive and are of different sizes. They should only be used for short periods of time because of their size. Traveling with one of these is handy, especially if your pet is rather small. Making visits for checkups to the veterinary’s clinic is so much easier with small pet kennels. These small kennels can be used for your kitty too. Years ago out in the wild, dogs would make a den of some sort for their protection and comfort. It is not any different today because if you have ever noticed, sometime your dog may lie under a table, under a stairway, perhaps even under a chair where they feel safe. My dog lays under the coffee table much of the time himself, which is funny to watch because he is a large dog. The best part is him getting back out from under the table. That is a sight to see.
It is a natural instinct for dogs to keep their area clean. Their mother taught this to them. Wearing breakaway dog collars should be considered when your dog is in their kennel or crate. They could accidentally strangle themselves. Things happen when we least expect, so keep that in mind to protect your dog. Choose a location for the dog’s kennel where they can enjoy the activities around them. In addition, you may want to have an extra one that can be placed in the bedroom during the night. They will feel close and secure knowing their pet family is close by. Dog kennels can be used inside or outside in your back yard, especially if they are larger than what you want to put in your home. Be Happy!
A Dog’s Lifespan Could Last As Long As 20 Years
Keeping your dog on a healthy diet, giving them plenty of exercise, water, shelter, and an over abundance of love and care, could possibly lead to a longer life span than expected. Some dogs live 10 years, and if proper care
was given, maybe 15 years, but living past 15 years is an exception and indicates how well you took care of your pet. Noticing any behavioral changes in your dog’s everyday activities is important, because your dog cannot tell you how they feel. Observation is the key. Eating habits may show there is a problem along with weight gain or loss, and the food they eat can cause health concerns, depending on what kind of food you give them. Take notice to the dog food you give your dog because the lack of nutrition is evident in many brands of food. Too much sodium, fillers with high percentage of grains like wheat, corn, and soy increase additional bulk into dog food, but nothing geared toward nutrition for your dog that is of concern in living a long and happy life. We, as humans, know how important it is in taking care of our bodies by eating the right food, exercising …. So there is no difference in a pet parent taking care of their beloved pet, is there?
Many dogs as they age start having health problems and is a hard experience to accept when moving around is hard for them, especially when getting up and down from lying in their dog kennel. I’m sure your dog has their own kennel that is their special
place of comfort, this is why pet kennels are wonderful to have. If your dog is having difficulty in moving around, then you might want to think about preparing a special dog bed for them as time progresses toward disability. Taking care of your dog is about the most rewarding feeling, knowing you have done your best for them. Be Happy!
