WOW! What An Improvement On The New Indoor Wooden Dog Gates

Products protecting our pets get better all the time with new ideas of how to fancy a product up to measure toward the décor of the pet parent’s home in protecting and keeping their pets safe.  It is seldom that a dog stays in one place in the home unless there is an illness of some kind preventing them moving around to be with their pet parent.  I wonder if they are just being inquisitive to see what is going on, or just wanting to be close for the love and attention from their pet parent.  I would like to think that it is for attention and companionship, but who would not love that togetherness within their pet family.

However, there are times that dogs need a designated area for many reasons, and once they conform to the pet parents’ wishes, just a few commands will lead them to know where they must stay and lay down to rest during certain activities within the home.  There are several types of indoor dog gates, but the newer features that are portable, are made of a hardwood finish such as cherry, and mahogany, and one that has a warm soft white colored finish.  These wooden dog gates are very attractive and can be used anywhere in the home including the entrance to the upstairs if you have a two story home or even at the top of the stairs keeping the pet child out of the way, but still being able to see and hear what is going on.  What is really neat about the wooden dog gates is how they are constructed and offers a tall freestanding dog gate 10” taller than the standard, fully assembled with no tools required, and features the old world craftsmanship of mortise and tenon with no nails, pins or staples.  Be Happy!

Spoof Up Your Dog’s Appearance With A Retractable Dog Leash

Each pet child has a personality all of their own when attached to their retractable leash, some are good, and some are not so good, just depending on what mood they are in, if that is possible.  Are dogs moody, I am not sure, but I know that my dog sometimes pouts when left alone longer than usual, but he does get over it?  There are retractable dog leashes that go with most personalities and are such fun in showing off that treasured pet child, and should have two kinds of leashes that should be part of their accessories.  One if they are still in the training mode particularly if the pet parent is training their dog to “come” or “heel”, this type of leash should be at least 25 feet or so, and a leash for walking.

A dog retractable leash has been high in popularity the last several years and are easy to handle and will allow enough slack for the pet child to wander up ahead to sniff out strange scents, but will retract when needed.  There are many choices to choose from, but be selective for you and your dogs needs on an everyday standard of when, where, and why a certain dog leash is required. Owning a retractable dog leash can become boring if there is no style involved such as the Rambo, Sherlock, Fifth Ave, Floral Fling, even the Death Star for the doggie that thinks they are a watch out, look out, big bad boy pet child.  Now what fun is that, not only will the pet parent be amused, but also the passerby is staring at that thing called a retractable dog leash.  Be Happy!

Everyone Has Their Own Bathtub, Even Doggies

Back when dog bathtubs were not heard of, and the pet parent wanted to bathe their dog, the kitchen sink was a good place, but only if the pet child was small and controllable.  Some dogs were bathed in the bathroom if there was a bathtub that would accommodate medium to large sized dogs, but this was at times quite an experience if the pet parent did not watch out for the dog shaking water off their bodies when they least expected it.  This was their way of ridding themselves of excessive water, but what a big mess that was. Brushing your dog before bathing is a good idea removing the excessive hair that they may be shedding, and during bath time there is not as much hair loss that makes cleaning up so much easier.

Dogs having their own dog bathtubs are now becoming very popular, and are so convenient because the bathing occurs outside the home.  The dog bath tubs are adaptable from large to small dogs, but if they are very tiny, it might just as well be easier and safer in a small tub of some sort, or even in the kitchen sink.  Some people that are not pet parents most probably think that this is unsanitary bathing a dog in the kitchen sink, but why not.  Tiny babies have been bathed in the kitchen sink from time to time and there was no harm to anyone, just clean out the sink as you would for anything else, and besides, the pet parent has control over the depth of water for the pet child to remain safe in an environment that is acceptable. Be Kind To Your Dog During Their Shedding Season

Different breeds have different types of hair that cause more problems than others, some are short haired, others long haired, but also the texture is different from coarse to fine, and straight to curly.  Shedding is the natural way that some dogs shed more than others but this is their way of ridding the old hair to make room for the new.  Not all pet parents have time to brush their dog every day to help stimulate the shedding for new growth, but whenever possible any amount of brushing will help.  There are various types of tools that will eliminate loose hair, but the greatest one that I have found is the FURminator.

The fantastic senior pet care product offereing the new grooming dog shedding tool , rids the excessive hair that attacks the dog’s undercoat where loose dead hair needs to be removed avoiding overly excessive shedding.  Some thick haired dogs shedding their hair comes out in clumps when pulled by hand which shows the amount produced during the shedding season.  I personally use the FURminator on my old Chocolate Lab who sheds immensely starting in the spring and usually continues throughout the summer months, and I must report that he loves the grooming part and will just lay there for any length of time that I have for him.  The more that you can use the dog shedding tool, the better it is for your dog’s coat, and doing so brings out the luster that looks and remains healthy until the shedding season starts all over again.  Be Happy!

Dog Booster Seats Make It FunTo Sightsee

The way pet parents take care of their pet child varies among pet owners as much depends on the breed and size of the dog.  If any of you read Marmaduke, can you just picture him sitting in a dog booster seat, I know this is a hilarious thought, but a funny one.  As we all know dog booster seats are for those tiny little dogs and not so tiny ones that cannot see out of the pet parents’ vehicle while going for a ride because they are too small, and beside how can you control the movement of the dog running back and forth in the front or back seat which is a serious distraction.  If there was an accident and your doggie was not restrained in their dog booster seat, most likely the little one could be seriously injured.

Dogs riding in a vehicle want to see what is going on around them and with big dogs, there is not a problem, but little ones need a dog booster seat where they can be strapped in just like a child in their car seat and take in the sights.  All dogs love to go riding to where ever their pet parents are going and the accommodations are no different for your furry friends as for yourself, pet parents wear safety belts for protection.  I realize this is somewhat different, but the seat belt can, and will most of the time prevent serious injuries, so protect your pet child as well.  Your dog needs to stay in one place during their ride and with having a dog booster seat for them, is a well-planned safety concern by the pet parent in protecting their little one.  Be Happy!

How handy is a portable dog water dish to the dog and their pet parent when they are out walking, running, traveling, or hiking?  Pet parents take water for themselves, so providing water for their pet child is just as important, especially with this year’s extreme heat having risen over most of the nation with unbelievable high temperatures.  Depending on what state you live in and the humidity levels that sometime can be unbearable, water is necessary to maintain the proper level of hydration.  Unbelievably, many humans overlook the importance of water not only for themselves, but as pet parents for the unsuspected pet child who depends on their pet parent to provide water at all times to maintain the hydration balance as well.

The pet parent sweats over their entire body, where dogs have a different way of perspiring and do so through their sweat glands from the pads of their feet and mouth.  Usually when it is very hot, dogs will pant constantly and some drool while doing so, but this is their natural way of cooling their bodies.  There are many varieties of water containers available to take along during outings that will suffice while away from home for the pet parent and their pet child, but for the pet child the most useful and convenient one is the portable dog water dish that is easy for their pet parent to carry.  The portable dog water dish is very handy in supplying the amount of water to keep your pet child cool enough to continue outdoor activities.  Be Happy!

Dog Ramps for Cars Provide Easier Mobility

Various products that are available for assisting our furry friends grows with supply and demand on helping our pets have better mobility in accomplishing difficult tasks, such as jumping up on furniture, jumping into their pet parents’ vehicle, and making it easier for them to reach heights that previously were not a problem.  However, as we all have experienced, getting older and perhaps not getting enough exercise we were all once accustomed to including our dogs as well, slows down the human and canine population.  Keeping in shape is of utmost importance in aging but as we all know, everything must slow down accordingly in experiencing youth, human or canine.  Joints ache; arthritis sets in and having the courage to go forward, sometimes backfires.

Doggie’s love to go for rides with their pet parents and trying to get into the vehicle whether it is a high or low entrance is painful, so dog ramps for cars were introduced to aid in their mobility.  It is so much easier for dogs to walk up a dog ramp offering protection to the dog’s joints preventing a painful experience in their mobility.  Dog ramps for cars are also available for pickup trucks, vans, and SUV’s, and calculated to meet the dog’s size and height for entrance.  Most of these dog ramps for cars can be folded for storage when not in use, but can also be used in getting up and down stairs, and some are telescopic for the distance required to extend the slope were the dog will be more comfortable.  Be Happy!

Dog Wheelchairs Will Help To Improve Mobility

If you are a pet parent that takes care of their dog and over protects them and loves them for what they are to you, and makes sure they are safe and healthy, will have a faithful friend and true companion. At one time or another some sort of illness, or even a disease may have hindered their ability to remain as they once were, but with medical attention, bounced back to being a healthy dog again.  During the course of their lifetime, little incidents may have occurred that were treatable but would take a considerable amount of time to recuperate, but eventually all was back to normal.  Then one day your dog was accidently hit or possibly run over by a vehicle, causing extensive damage to their body requiring surgery.

The vet informs the pet parent there is some neurological and vertebral damage where nothing that can be done, but the inevitable procedure that was once the only solution, can now be replaced using dog wheelchairs allowing them to continue living a long and full life, but with few exceptions.  Dogs are resilient and will adapt with time in learning what they can still do, and what their limitations are preventing them from running, jumping and playing.  However, guess what, they can still do this with the exception of jumping and can run after a ball, play with their pet parents, and other visiting canines.  I have written about this before, but each time I do, it gives me the chills thinking and actually seeing what wheelchairs for dogs can help them accomplish, but owning a paralyzed dog is a heartbreaking experience but by providing them their very own dog wheelchair, their lives and yours can and will continue.  Be Happy!

Are You Aware Of Homeopatic Dog Medication?

Wednesday, July 21, 2010

Our pet children can develop various diseases, some very serious and when this happens, the pet parent immediately calls and makes an appointment to their veterinarian for a diagnosis of what is wrong with their pet child.  Once the condition is determined the veterinarian will prescribe medications that pertains to the situation, and sometime that can cost more money than we expected, but what else is there to do. Some pet parents are aware of homeopathic treatment, but the ones that are not, much controversy is involved in the homeopathic dog meds mainly because the awareness was not available.  Many supplements and herbs have proven to be very beneficial because of the natural treatments resulting by thinning the ingredient of the substance that is causing the problem.

There are many individuals including pet parents that may have doubts in this type of homeopathic dog meds, but many success stories show that the dilution of the ingredient used can be enormous and still be effective.  Homeopathic dog meds respond very well to homeopathy for arthritis pain and epilepsy and is becoming to be a very popular way for treating animals.  Persistent illness of the pet may possibly need several homeopathic remedy treatments before the illness subsides.  There is a unique homeopathic treatment in liquid form referred to as ‘pet bounce’ and is administered into the dog’s mouth and absorbed quickly into their bloodstream by the tissues in their mouth, therefore it is up to the pet parent to do what they can realizing how terribly painful arthritis and dog joint pain is affecting their pet child.  Be Happy!

Control Ticks With A Preventic Tick Collar

It is still very hot throughout all of these United States and pets suffer from high heat temperatures, especially if they are long-haired dogs, and this hot weather brings on those annoying ticks and fleas.  When pet parents do not protect their dogs from ticks and fleas, breeding continues under their long hair and becomes difficult for the dog to tolerate, usually causing excessive scratching.  There are many large cities and suburbs that have off leash dog parks for pet parents to take them to exercise, run, and play with the other dogs, and if there has been no protection, dogs come back loaded with fleas and ticks.  Ticks are especially troublesome because if they are not revealed in their early stage on the dog’s body, they start to suck blood from the dog’s body leaving their head embedded.

As a pet parent for your pet, you are obligated to protect them from the flea and tick infestation early in the year by providing products that alleviate this problem and if given the proper flea and tick medication, will not get out of hand.  The preventic tick collar is very effective in as much as it kills and helps to rid ticks from the dog’s body, and when worn on the dog’s neck, the preventic tick collar will last for three months.  This tick collar is not for cats and will not kill the flea population, but there are some good products out there that will do the job. The Frontline, K-9 Advantix, Advantage are all great products, and the Capstar is a pill that can be used on dogs and cats, so keep in touch with your dogs constant scratching and being miserable during the heat of the summer and protect them.  Be Happy!
