Indoor gates more than do their job to separate the pet child from the pet parent when having doggie under your feet when the pet parent is busy trying to accomplish things that are necessary around the home. Let us face it, we love our furry friends and want them to be part of the family, but there are times when the pet child needs some boundaries that are available by having a dog gate. Dog gates can be metal, plastic, or wood. The wooden dog gates are outstanding in appearance compared to the others, and are decorative as well in a variety of sizes and shapes, free standing, two panels, and many other varieties. The wooden dog gates are sturdy hardwood gates that come in cherry, mahogany, black, and white, and will compliment your home décor in any area you need to confine your pet child in for a short time.

Wooden dog gates are great to set in front of a stairway keeping the pet child downstairs, but having a dog gate upstairs can be set up in just a few seconds at the top of the stairs, or in a doorway. These pet gates are self-supporting and there is no need for drilling holes and worrying about pressure marks on the doorframes. The wooden dog gate is not only useful for confining the pet child to one area, but is attractive and stylish. Separating babies or young children from the family pet may be necessary keeping peace in the family because the pet child can become too playful with excitement being around young children, but with babies, they are most likely staying safe in their playpen. Be Happy!

Times has changed from bathing our pet child in the kitchen sink, family bathtub, or lavatory, now there are dog bathtubs that make it much easier to bathe your dog outdoors, or in the garage. The dog bathtubs are inflatable, has a bottom drain, can be hooked up to the garden hose, and has a walk-in and out that makes it easy for the pet child to get inside without their pet parent having to lift them up into the dog bathtub. Our summer is about to come to an end after Labor Day and it may not be possible to continue bathing your pet child outdoors, but it is necessary to keep our dogs clean so the grooming salon may be a better choice rather than try to bathe your pet child in your kitchen sink, bathtub, or lavatory. Some states remain warm during the winter months so continue to bathe your dog outdoors, if not, set the dog bathtub in the garage.

The best time to purchase a dog bathtub for your dog is when they are small because older dogs may not want anything to do with that funny looking thing. There are many products available for the new pet child, so think about what would be appropriate for their comfort and safety. If the pet child is an older dog then trying to convince them to walk into their new dog bathtub may be a huge issue, it may be easier to just take them to the pet grooming salon and not have to worry about it. However, if the pet child enjoys their bath, then continue to bathe them on a regular basis, this is a great way to bond with each other and have fun at the same time. Be Happy!

How many times have you seen a pet parent out walking their pet child and the pet child is in control by pulling ahead at their own will, while the person on the other end is just about running full speed ahead. I have seen that more times that I would like to count on all fingers and toes. This is ridiculous, what kind of fun is that in walking your dog, the responsibility of owning a dog is training them for obedience in many different aspects of learning commands that will turn them into a great pet that any pet parent would be pleased to own. The use of different lengths with a short leash should be for training to “heel” and “down”, a longer leash in learning how to “come”, “sit”, and “stay”, “where the retractable dog leash is for walking your dog leisurely giving them some slack ahead of you, but still having control by pulling the locking mechanism leash back into place. Note: these different leash lengths are not set in concrete, everyone has their own thoughts.

Dogs love to sniff anything and everything so allowing some slack allows them to have their fun, but must understand they are not in control. It would not be a wise decision for children to use the retractable dog leash without supervision in learning how to use the lock by controlling the length of the cord; this will take practice for ultimate control to get the feel of just how the leash functions for control. Do not settle for an inexpensive leash just because it costs less, it is not worth it to take a chance on a poorly manufactured dog retractable leash. Less expensive leashes that do not stand up to a quality product, contains various flaws; therefore, you get what you pay for. Be Happy!

Another thought to keep in mind that can be a dangerous situation, is if the pet child was left in a dog booster seat for any length of time, that would be another story if the pet parent left the doggie in their seat to go inside shopping, that would be just as bad. Why take the pet child along if they cannot go inside shopping, most department and home supply stores allow dogs inside on a leash. Raising a pet child is a large responsibility and we as pet parents should make every effort to keep on top of things that could be detrimental to the pet child and to the pet parent as well. We all make mistakes at one time or another and learn by them through experience on what to do, why, and when because we all want to cherish our time together with our faithful companion as long as we can. Be Happy!

The awesome pet fountain with running water for your pet child, compliments the automatic pet feeder that will manage their diet and takes the worry out of overfeeding. The pet child will have two meals measured exactly what should be given and what time it should be given as well, with a convenient timer that can be set up to 48 hours in advance with a substantial 1.5 cups of food in each section of the 2-meal automatic pet feeder. Watching your pet child’s weight is very important because the way they love to eat can get out of hand, especially any table foods that are given, and yes I know, the begging with those great big brown eyes gets to you and resisting is hard. Usually the pet parent tries to feed their furry friends on a regular schedule, but if they sometime work longer hours than expected, the doggie will become anxious.

My dog knows when it is 4:30 every day, and at times when not fed on time, he will come up to me and stare as if to say, holy moly do you know what time it is. The 2-meal pet feeder is attractive to look at and does not take away from the décor you have in your kitchen, or any other room you feed your dog. Another great feature of providing the 2-meal pet feeder for your pet child is that it solves all problems when the pet parent is attending a special function that lasts longer than was expected. Maybe after work there is a party during the holidays, or an invitation out for dinner with friends, how convenient the 2-meal pet feeder is, not having to worry about hurrying home to feed the dog. Be Happy!

One time or another, we have seen a ramp going up to the front door of a home as well as having steps, but when we see that ramp, we know immediately that there is a handicapped person living in that home that suffers from medical problems requiring a walker or a wheelchair. It is not any different when the pet child becomes handicapped suffering from arthritis that most of the time goes along with growing older, but once the pet child develops this painful disease, they will have it for the rest of their life. There are many medications to calm the pain down somewhat, but once arthritis is involved, mobility will become a problem. When this happens, the pet child’s joints or maybe hip problems will require attention, and will depend on their pet parent to take care of them by providing ways that make it easier for them to walk into the family vehicle to go for a ride.

Dogs love to go for rides but if they are in pain, they will start to have fear in jumping up into the front or back seat. This is where dog ramps for cars come into place regardless if you have a car, or a SUV, the dog ramp will make it easier for your pet child to walk up, not jump. Overweight dogs may have problems as well getting into the family vehicle, but we all know what pain is and we can do something about it, but the pet child cannot, therefore depends on their pet parent to provide comfort. Arthritis will become apparent through the dogs breeding and genetics, and large breeds will become more susceptible, so be patient and caring and do what you can for that furry friend of yours. Be Happy!

Keeping our pets healthy takes some concerns and a watchful eye making sure they are happy and in good health. Sometime problems do not always show up right away and that is a concern because your pet child cannot tell you how they hurt or how they feel, this is why it is so important to always pay close attention to what they do that is not their normal way around the home. The pet child may have a bladder infection, or may have terrible joint and hip pains when they get up from lying on the floor, or just the mobility that they use to have in their activities in their normal day. Veterinarian treatment is usually the first thought that a pet parent has toward something that is not quite right, such as an urinary infection, but make sure you the pet parent, is maintaining a balanced diet for your pet child.

Eating the right food clears out the pet child’s urinary tract of toxins and any bacteria that you are not aware of in easing their pain. Joint pain is another problem mostly in older dogs and homeopathic treatment is a method that is becoming popular in treating and easing that pain along with any hip problems as well. Homeopathic treatments on dogs of all ages are used with no side effects for many diseases and illnesses, using certain herbs in place of antibiotics. Pet bounce is a homeopathic pet medications method accepted in health problems involving arthritis for pet joint pain and urinary problems, and the history of the dog out in the wild did their own homeopathic treatment that was amazing by seeking out vegetation plants and herbs when in pain or felt weak or ill. Be Happy!

Wild dogs could always find water, but not food and would have to hunt for their next meal. There was always running water in their environment in which they lived so that is what is so attractive to the pet child having the dog drink fountain because the flow of water is constantly running. The Drinkwell Pet Fountain is the original water fountain, and a Drinkwell Big-Dog Fountain that features the patented free-falling stream of water that pets love, has a larger water reservoir. The pet water fountain has charcoal filters that eliminates bad tastes and odors, and specifically designed for big dogs by a veterinarian for the ultimate choice of providing fresh water in keeping the pet child safe and healthy, and provides more oxygen for freshness. Be Happy!

Dog collars vary in making the right choice as to which one is best for your dog, but there should be no problem, the micro-adjustable collar delivers the perfect fit and is not too loose, or too tight, but just right. If your dog has a wire cage, precaution should be taken avoiding accidents where their tags could get caught, so always pay attention and make sure that the distance between the collar and the dog’s neck is safe. The Cinch-It Adjustable Dog Collar is a similar technology like the snow and winter sports industry ratchet and pawl, resists water, odor and stains. The one-handed release to remove the dog safety collar is quite handy and adjusts to the correct size comfortable for your dog, providing a quick release mechanism by a slide lock, eliminates the risk of over tightening the dog’s collar.

The dog safety collar comes in various colors and medium and large sizes that bring out your dog’s hair color to enhance their beauty and/or handsome appearance. My Chocolate Lab has a Lime-Green collar and really stands out with his chocolate colored coat. Note: This picture is not my dog, but could be a twin even without a collar around his neck. The locking mechanism is pretty awesome the way the collar adjusts, a little snug is good when out walking your dog, and a slight loosening for around the yard or the inside of your home for safety. If caught on something and the collar is slightly loose, will give your dog the ability to pull out of their collar, avoiding a serious situation. Be Happy!

There are probably many questions on ticks, what are they, where do they come from, and how detrimental they are to our pet’s health. Ticks are blood suckers and can live a very long time waiting for their prey, then will embed themselves into the skin of humans, canines or feline, and are found out in the environment walking through wooded areas and wait for something to crawl onto. They are under low shrubs and grass and as an unsuspected pet parent and their pet child walks by and brushes up against the weeds and grass, bingo. It is a lie and wait situation, but when the ticks start lodging themselves on anything that became available, it can be very hard to detach them if not found right away.

There are many transmitted diseases from ticks that are dangerous, that is why it is so important to have a Preventic Tick Collar. Ticks are worse in many different areas where some are heavily populated, especially in the south central part of the United States. I can certainly attest to this because growing up as a child into an adult, I have encountered many ticks, and there are different varieties that are worse than some ticks and can be from very small to many different sizes. Preventic Tick Collars are for dogs and kills and detaches ticks when worn for up to three months, but never use the Preventic Tick Collar on cats. Be Happy!
