Christmas Dog
There was a program on TV not long ago about a dog that was borrowed from an animal shelter so the family could share their Christmas with a dog who had no family. It seemed that the father in the family had been in a war zone and had a dog as his companion. This soldier was severely injured which affected one of his legs and was returned home, having to leave the dog behind. The man’s son found out that a
family could borrow a dog for Christmas. The father was not so keen on the idea, but the boy would have been so disappointed. So the father and son went to the animal shelter to find out what had to be done in order to bring one of their dogs home. Well, the answer was, “take good care of him, but bring him back the day after Christmas.”
This seemed to be acceptable to the man and his son, so they brought this wonderful dog back to their farm. The dog loved to ride in the bed of the pickup, but was having difficulty in jumping up into the back end. The man had
made a ramp for some of his sheep for loading them in the back of his truck, so why not use this as a dog ramp for the dog. It worked really great and made things so much easier. Christmas was just around the corner and the man kept thinking about having to return the dog to the shelter. Thinking about the dog that was left behind when his leg was injured, made up the man’s mind to adopt this dog and provide a very healthy life for him. Needless to say, all had a wonderful Christmas together, and finally gave the dog a name. Christmas! Be Happy!
