Does Your Pet Insurance Cover Pet Emergency Rooms and Clinics?
Be prepared if your pet gets sick in the middle of the night, or after most veterinarian clinics have closed for the day. I cannot think of anything more stressful at this particular time when your pet needs attention immediately, and you have not located a local pet emergency room or a clinic, much less
have their phone number available. Check around for the nearest pet emergency room or clinic, write the address down on a piece of paper including the phone number, that way you will remember where it is, even better put the emergency room or clinics phone number into your cell phone. I have done this myself because I have a pet that is going on 14 years old and has many health problems. I am always scared that something might happen when his veterinarian office is closed. I would be so scattered brained and confused, I would be completely stressed. Always be prepared for emergencies. Your pet may have been hit by a car, gotten into some poison of some kind, have a heart attack, seizures or any other health problems that have become an emergency, then what.
Once again, know immediately the location of a pet emergency room or clinic and their phone number. You want to know who to get in touch with, and let them know you will be bringing your pet it ASAP. We all tend to plan for other things, plan ahead for this. Just a thought, have a list of more than one pet emergency room or clinic and phone number, you may even want to call
each one and find out exactly what their hours are just in case. When you find this service, do yourself a favor, and map quest it. This way you will know exactly where to go, if or when needed. In addition, it would be a good idea to ask if they accept pet insurance. This should be an important service to consider when you first purchased your pet medical insurance. Some may not. These things all need to be taken care of beforehand. It is so important to you and your pet, whether you have a cat or dog to take care of them to the best of your ability. Talk to your veterinarian and ask them what or which they would recommend. Be Happy!
