Time is sneaking up and counting down (just three weeks) to the Easter holidays and all of the fun activities. If you absolutely have to fly your pet, you know they will have to travel in the cargo unaccompanied.  So choose a direct flight, which may decrease the time spent on the tarmac during extreme weather conditions.  Please give it a second thought before you commit to purchasing an airline ticket for your furry pet.  You have other choices and making the correct one may save your dog or cats life.  Flying is an enjoyable experience for pet parents, but not for their pets.  Exposing them to temperatures that are not controlled for comfort, horrible smells that they are not accustomed to, and ventilation that is not consistent to what their pet parents enjoy flying in the main cabin of the airplane.  A noise that the engines make is scary to your pet and they can be stressed to the limit.  If you must fly your pet in cargo, do not administer any medication or any kind of tranquilizers what so ever.  They will not have the ability to brace themselves during weather conditions that are rough causing flights to be very uncomfortable, and dangerous. The increase of heart or respiratory problems can become serious according to the American Veterinary Medical Association.  Let the flight attendant know that you have a pet flying in cargo and reassure them of your concern that your pet is in fact on board.

Do yourself a favor and relieve all of this pressure. Book a flight for your pet on a pet only airline before time runs out, if it has not already.
