Pet Safety Blog

Dogs are wonderful loving pets to all pet parents by being your companion, buddy, lap dogs, working dogs, service dogs, or just an adorable lover.  Whichever type your dog is, is worth all the effort in the world in keeping them safe from harm’s way.  Sometime that is not possible, but we all do our best in protecting them.  Some of us have had extra small, small, medium, large, extra large, and extra extra large, and some even have had giant dogs for pets.  I have been fortunate to have had the pleasure owning almost all of these breeds at one time or another, and they were such good loving dogs dedicated to making my family happy just being around them.  It is hard to describe the feeling a pet parent has, but you know the feeling. 

It is a sad time when something happens to them.  Accidents, chronic diseases, arthritis, hip dysphasia, and other serious health problems, amputees,  and all  other tragedies to numerous to mention. If you have ever watched a working dog, police dog, search and rescue dog, service dog, or therapy dogs there is absolutely nothing like it.  The amazing obedience and dedication of these dog’s and their handler is so awesome, but eventually they all grow old and become handicapped in some way or another.  Their hind legs may not move as fast, or may not be able to move at all. Walking becomes difficult, climbing stairs is becoming harder each time, and jumping up on your lap, or whatever your faithful dog has been accustomed to, can no longer function as they once were able and paralysis has sent in.  What is the answer?  Medication can do so much in relieving pain, but what about the loss of feeling in their legs?  We all have seen humans in wheelchairs, but have you ever seen a dog in one?  If not, you are in for a big surprise.  Absolutely wonderful is all that I can say.  There are wheelchairs for dogs that will help their mobility that has been lost and still be able to live a long happy life, enjoying what is around them and know and feel that they can still participate in their family’s activities.  Be Happy!
